Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has expressed his hope that a
national consensus will be forged to move a process to amend the constitution.
Speaking
at a press meet organised by the Nepal Press Union, Dhanusha, the Congress
leader said we should all be aware of circumstance (s)that may pose threat to
federalism, democracy and the principle of inclusion, the major achievements of
the country and people attained through great efforts.
He
further insisted on amending the constitution on the basis of a political
consensus and ensuring its widely acceptability so as to find a strong base for
institutionalising federalism and republic. He was of the view of focusing the
country's attention on holding the local and provincial elections by resolving
the problems facing the country soon.
